Our Clinic Policies

Walk-ins

We are both a family medical clinic and a walk-in clinic. The priority of looking after patient would be as follows:

  1. Booked appointments
  2. Walk-in patients

This service is primarly for acute, immediate concerns. We wish to accomodate all walk-in patients and therefore have more than one doctor on duty.

We offer Medical Express which is a same day walk-in medical service.

Hours of Operation

The clinic hours are different Monday through Saturday and may be subject to change by management. If there is sufficient demand we will look at expanding our clinical hours to include Holidays.

One Concern Per Visit

To minimize wait times, please focus on your main issue. We are concerned for you and your problems. Please advise your doctor of all your symptoms and difficulties. Our doctors do their very best to handle all your medical concerns efficiently. However, certain complaints require follow up appointments. Please be prepared to return for any follow up appointments at your doctor’s medical discretion. Your doctor will focus on your main concern today and if necessary, discuss plans for any other medical issues in future visits.

By allowing us to know what your main concern may be, also helps the clinic better manage patient flow and appointments. No-one likes to wait for extended periods of time to see their doctor, however, if everyone comes with a “list” it inevitably may lead to long delays. We understand that it may be very inconvenient to see the doctor and may require time off work. We will do our very best to accomodate all situations and emergencies.

We are located on 23rd avenue and 4th street south west with a parkade adjacent to our building on the west side of 23rd avenue for your convenience.

Uninsured Services

Alberta Health and Wellness may not cover all service fees. For example, forms and sick notes may require payment. All forms must be presented at the reception desk and paid for before the office visit.

Test Results

Please do not call for your test results. When you are sent for a test, ask your doctor if you need to come back to review results. Typically, you are expected to return if your symptoms remain or if you worsen, even if the doctor doesn’t call you back. Doctors always call patients with significant results that may need follow up. If in doubt, please just come back to the office to discuss matters in person.

Confidentiality

Expect the highest level of confidentiality from your doctor. You must provide written, witnessed authorization in order to release your medical information to anyone (even a parent, a counselor, or a spouse), unless you are with the person at the time of disclosure.

Termination

Termination of the doctor-patient relationship can be done at any time and can be initiated by either party. If a patient feels that the relationship is not working out, they can seek a new doctor. A doctor can equally decide if the relationship is not therapeutic, and if necessary, will notify the patient. If you miss three booked appointments or are abusive towards any staff member you will be discharged from the clinic. Clinic has zero tolerance policy regarding abusive behaviour towards staff.

Limited Wait Times

We value your time and patience. Our goal is to do everything in our power to ensure that you do not have extended waits. We are a medical clinic and medical emergencies will come up.  Please understand that if your appointment is delayed it is due to an unforeseen emergency.  Your understanding is always greatly appreciated.
